Loft Insulation
As much as 15%* of an un-insulated property’s heating costs are typically lost through the roof so by insulating the loft with a mineral insulation, you can put the heat back where it is needed - indoors.
As well as keeping your home warmer in the winter it will keep your home cooler in the summer and provide noise insulation which is a particular benefit if you adjacent to an airport.
Many properties already have some loft insulation, but any property with less than 270mm loft insulation needs topping up.
Loft insulation quilts should be laid horizontally between the joists and reach the top of the joist. This will normally make the insulation about 100 to 150mm (4-6 inches) deep. More layers are then added at right angles, to close any gaps between the joist and the quilt bringing the depth up to the recommended 270mm.
As part of the process we also ensure that the loft hatch is draught proofed and water tanks and pipes are fully insulated.
The whole installation process typically takes about 2 hours to complete and could reduce their household energy bills by around 15%

These are estimates based on insulating a gas-heated, semi-detached home with three bedrooms, showing savings when you insulate an uninsulated loft, and when you top up 100mm of insulation to 270mm. (The recommended depth for mineral wool insulation is 270mm but other materials need different depths.)
