Anglian Building Products has completed two renewables pilot projects.
Undertaking works both in Ipswich and Barnstaple, a solar photovoltaic (PV) array and air source heat pump were installed to the two properties.
Both properties selected were ‘off the grid’ and had in place old, defective storage heaters which generated costly heating bills.
A Mitsubishi 2.2kw photovoltaic panel and a Daikin Monobloc 8kw air source heat pump were installed to the property in Ipswich. A Mitsubishi 5kw Ecodan air source heat pump and a 1.14kw Mitsubishi photovoltaic panel were installed to the property in Barnstaple.
The PV panels were placed onto the roof in a southerly facing position and fitted into an AC/DC invertor and total generation meter.
The installation of the new central heating systems will ensure residents enjoy a significant reduction on their annual fuel bills. This is due to the electricity supplied by the solar panels combined with the energy efficiency of the heat pump.
