Shepherds Studios - London
Shepherds Studios, a prestigious office complex in West London, has undergone a £1.1m refurbishment for property developers Helical Bar plc.
Situated in Shepherds Bush in the heart of London’s media district. The eight month refurbishment of this office complex involved each of the 1,700 windows being replaced, and the roof repaired. The office building was occupied throughout the project.
Anglian worked alongside AKS Ward Building Consultants interfacing with the planners for two years, prior to the project commencing, to find a suitable window style to compliment the striking seven floor building’s original architecture. Once planning permission was granted, Anglian took responsibility for organising the renovation work, setting up threeweek rolling programs in agreement with tenants, to carry out the window installations and roof repairs in different sections of the building.
Anglian worked closely with roofing contractors, and fit-out specialists, CS Hodges, to arrange for furniture to be moved within the office in advance of the work starting. Tenants were able to plan for and approve the timing of all building work carried out in advance The three-week programs also meant that scaffolding was erected in sections so that, at any one time, only a relatively small part of the building was affected by the work, and then, only for short periods.
During the project Anglian achieved the mammoth task of installing 1,700 windows in just eight months, at a rate of 60 windows per week. Anglian Building Products is the b2b division of Anglian Windows Limited, the UK’s market leader in the provision of PVCu windows, doors and conservatories.

"We worked extensively with Anglian on the planning aspects of this project over an extended period of time to ensure that implementation ran smoothly when we reached the onsite phase. This proved to be the case as all aspects of the project were performed on time and managed extremely well, causing a minimum of disruption to the buildings occupants whilst work was carried out."
