25 Soutra Place, Glasgow Housing Association
Built in the early 1960s, 25 Soutra Place is an 18 storey tower block in the
Cranhill area of Glasgow.
Having previously worked on a number of high rise projects, including four tower blocks in the Kingsway area of Glasgow, Anglian Building Products were delighted to be appointed by Glasgow Housing Association to replace the windows to 25 Soutra Place.
Anglian installed tilt and turn windows to 102 flats and tilt-only windows to the stairwells.
Access to the tower block was via mast climbing work platforms which were also used to lift materials and transport away waste. A specialist contractor was engaged to install anti-roosting spikes to cills and ledges.
The project was carried out over a nine-week period with minimal disruption to residents. Constant contact was maintained through a dedicated resident liaison officer who provided up-to-date information and support throughout the project

“The client was very pleased with how smoothly the project ran and has since awarded us contracts for the adjacent towers - 138 Fastnet Street and 7 Longstone Place.”
Paul Bichener
Regional Operations Director, Anglian Building Products.
