Vertical Integration (PVC-u Windows and Doors)
One of our main competitive advantages is that we operate a vertically integrated service, enabling total control of all processes from initial design, survey, manufacture, fabrication and glazing to final installation and after sales support.
The benefits of vertical integration are that it provides you with certainty of:
In addition it gives us greater control of CSR issues such as sustainability and business ethics.
This contrasts with the majority of our competitors who typically fabricate products using components from a multitude of external sources.
Research & Development and Design
Anglian?s in-house teams ensure that Anglian products are designed to exceed industry standards, and maximise product life cycles. Our current focus is very much on sustainability issues, increasing the use of recycled materials and improving the energy efficiency of our products. The Design Department focus both on new products and bespoke fenestration solutions.
Raw Material Supply
Anglian?s position as market leader provides us with enormous buying power. Our procurement department backed by advice from external consultants KPMG Government Advisory Body uses the latest innovative procurement techniques to ensure best value is achieved. All supply chain partners are engaged on formal Service Level Agreements with a strong focus on efficiency, performance management and collaborative working.
Extrusion
We blend the PVC-u raw materials in-house to give certainty of quality and consistency. We then extrude over 150 different extrusion sections in our dedicated extrusion facility. The range of profiles include main window and door frame sections, trims, fascia, soffit and gaskets. All are extruded to strict quality standards including BSI Kitemarks and British Board of Agrément Certificates.
Glass Processing
Our Glass Shop utilises computer optimised glass cutting tables to minimise waste, glass is then toughened as required using our huge furnaces ready for assembly into double glazed units. The Insulating Glass lines assemble the individual panes with the spacer bar and sealant to produce sealed units of the exact specification and size to meet individual requirements.
Fabrication
Our computer controlled optimised machining centres automatically cut and route the PVCu sections ready for reinforcing if required. Each section is then welded into a frame and the weld sprue is removed utilising robotic handling devices. Each frame is individually identified by a barcode.
The frames and glazing are assembled together with the hardware, and then glazed. All glazing is packed into position with special retained packers which ensures that the finished product is set-up ready for installation.
Each unit is then quality checked, and wrapped if required. The whole process is co-ordinated to ensure that products are ready for delivery to meet the required installation date.
Distribution
All product is delivered to site via Anglian?s in-house Distribution Department, Deliveries are optimised based on just-in-time principles and minimising our environmental impacts.
Installation
Installation is undertaken by trained and experienced personnel in accordance with the Anglian Installation Manual. All Installers wear uniforms and drive liveried vans.
Recycling
Anglian use of Site Waste Management Plans to minimize waste and maximize the re-use of waste materials has been recognised by the British Standards Institute (BSI), following our recent award of ISO 14001. Recognising the work that we has put into minimising our impact on the environment, we continue to ensure all projects with first generation PVC-u windows are fully recycled and our profiles are designed using recycled materials.
