With heat rising, 25%* of heat is lost through the roof of an uninsulated property. You are able to reduce your heating bills, by simply reducing your heat loss. Insulating your loft or attic is a great way to keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in summer. It also provides noise insulation, which is a particular benefit if you live adjacent to an airport.
Many properties already have some loft insulation, but any property with less than 270mm loft insulation, needs topping up.
Loft insulation quilts should be laid horizontally between the joists and reach the top of the joist. This will normally make the insulation about 100 to 150mm (4-6 inches) deep. More layers are then added at right angles, to close any gaps between the joist and the quilt bringing the depth up to the recommended 270mm.
As part of the Anglian service, we ensure that the existing loft hatch is draught proofed and fully insulated should it require. If the hatches need replacing, we will arrange this for you and if required, install storage platforms near to the hatch access as part of our service.
Hot water tanks and pipes will also be fully insulated as part of the installation process which typically takes about 2 hours to complete.
