- A basic waste management system to avoid/reduce waste levels throughout
- Minimise our CO2 impact through reduced logistical movements
- In-house expertise and back-up from our own R&D lab to deliver energy efficient products
- Recycled materials re-used within the manufacture of new products.
Where we procure externally, we have implemented stringent supply chain management procedures.
- We utilise a rigorous vetting procedure which includes focus on ethical sourcing and procuring sustainable materials
- Our supply chain starts and finishes in the UK with all products being manufactured and installed using local labour
Fact: Installation of a new cooling system in the factory reduced our overall electricity consumption by 2,535,960KHW
Our Carbon Footprint
As well as being a major manufacturer of energy-efficient windows, we have recently implemented a number of strategies in-house to reduce our carbon footprint.
- We are undertaking a pilot programme aimed at reducing our footprint by at least 10% and makes sustainability a key part of everyday decision making. This programme is being facilitated by ONEARTH Research and Handstand Ltd and is supported by the Open University.
‘Project Green’ a company-wide programme, aimed at enhancing our environmental accountability. Appointed green ‘champions’ help to fa
cilitate and drive through initiatives such as energy consumption reductions, waste reduction, re-use and recycling schemes, improved environmental efficiency in logistics, car sharing initiatives and the ongoing development of new products and processes.
Fact: Pre-determined heating levels set in both the factories and offices have seen a huge reduction in our energy bills.
We take a positive approach to recycling issues and almost every element is re-used, so there is no-need to send anything to landfill sites when we recycle with such efficiency.
