Health & Safety

Health and Safety

Anglian fully understand our obligations regarding Health and Safety, we are experienced in undertaking the CDM roles of both Principal Contractor and Planning Co-ordinator. All personnel are provided with specialist PPE including safety glasses, hard hats, gloves and wrist protectors.

We have developed a thorough understanding of the risks associated with replacing windows and doors to occupied properties. Most of the risks encountered are common to all projects and therefore we have developed an extensive portfolio of method statements and risk assessments that can normally be tailored to suit specific project requirements.

This portfolio has been developed following the principles of risk assessment as detailed in Regulation 3 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, namely:

  • Identifying the Hazards associated with the tasks
  • Evaluating the likelihood of harm occurring from the hazard
  • Calculating the potential severity of harm from that hazard and
  • Identifying the persons who might be harmed.

To ensure all the significant hazards have been identified and therefore assessed on a particular project a staged and ongoing approach shall be adopted.

We provide our personnel with extensive Health and Safety training including:

  • Health & Safety Law
  • CITB Site Safety for Managers
  • Site inductions and tool box talks
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme
  • Gas safety
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Working at heights/choosing appropriate access equipment
  • First Aid
  • Manual Handling
  • COSHH.

Anglian are approved by the Contractors Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS) and the SAFE Contractor, health and safety contractor accreditation scheme.
