Members of some of the Community Sports Foundation’s (CSF) disability football programmes had the chance of a lifetime recently thanks to Official Club Partner Anglian Home Improvements.
To mark our 50th year, Anglian donated one of our Carrow Road pitch slots to the Foundation, so that the players, from the Down’s Syndrome team and Pan-Disability group, could have a coaching session at the home of the Canaries.
Anglian Home Improvements has established a long and fruitful partnership with Norwich City as one of its sponsors and has a long track record for supporting sport-related charity and community activities.
‘With it being Anglian’s 50th anniversary this year, we want to make sure that we make a special effort to support those in our community who are disadvantaged by giving them a real experience to remember. As a sponsor of Norwich City’s Player of the Match award at every home game we felt that the Community Sports Foundation was a fitting organisation to use one of our pitch sessions, as they provide vital support in getting young people with disabilities to get active and learn the value of exercise, teamwork and achievement. “Our very close links with the city of Norwich mean that we are fully aware of how important football is to the community. So, it’s fitting to be able to extend the experience of playing on the ‘hallowed turf’ at Carrow Road to the county’s youngsters. We hope they all had a great day!’ Melanie McDonald, Head of Brand & PR, Anglian Home Improvements |
‘There are some huge Norwich city fans in the groups and to get the chance to play on the Carrow Road pitch is something that they’ll never forget.’ Darren Hunter, Disability Development Officer for CSF |
