As you may be aware, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) are conducting on-going investigations in relation to fire performance standards relating to fire doors.
Guidance has been issued by the MHCLG that indicates that any new fire doors will need to be subjected to furnace testing on both sides of the doors in order to meet building regulation requirements. To date, this has not been the standard industry practice.
In accordance with the Association of Composite Door Manufacturers (ACDM) guidance we have ceased the sale and installation of all doors that have not been tested in full accordance with the MHCLG minimum specification.
We will provide an update following forthcoming notification from both the MHCLG and ACDM.
