Proud to sponsor the Solway Sharks Ladies Team

The Solway Sharks Ladies Ice Hockey Team was created in May 2013 by the Solway Sharks Ice Hockey Club in conjunction with Dumfries & Galloway Council. Based at Dumfries Ice Bowl, the aim of the Team is to allow any female to participate in Ice Hockey in a safe and inclusive environment, promoting this minority sport. Along with team training, they also hold regular ‘come and try/development’ sessions.

They are currently the only Registered League Ladies Ice Hockey Team in Scotland. Due to this they play their league games in the Ladies, English North Division 1 League.

Solway Ladies I.H.T. are self-sufficient in raising funding to cover all running costs to enable them to continue competing within the league and other related events, with team members covering their own expenses of purchasing playing kit, registration, ice and training fees.

Solway Sponsorship Committee member and Team player, Adele Cockayne stated, “We were absolutely delighted when Anglian Building Products helped our team by way of sponsorship. This enabled us to provide our Team members with tracksuits, each one incorporating Anglian Building Products logo along with our Solway logo, player name and number. The tracksuits are worn to every home and away game, making us look like a proper team off the ice. Everyone involved with Solway Ladies wholeheartedly wish to thank Anglian Building Products for their generosity and support”

Anglian Building Products are delighted to support the Solway Sharks Ladies Team in the form of a new team tracksuit. We have acknowledged that Ice Hockey is not a mainstream sport, and it is important to us that smaller clubs are able to offer participation opportunities for people looking to develop their skills in a physical team sport. By sponsoring this striking new kit, other funding raised by the team can now prioritised elsewhere and ultimately encourage more people to try out the sport.
