Leader: Roy Frost, Managing Director ABP
As we move into a new year and significantly ABP’s 50th year and approach the end of my first year at the helm of ABP, I want to reflect on the operational and organisational journey we’re on and, more importantly, the culture we’re building together. One of my priorities has been strengthening communication across the business so that everyone, especially to our installers, RLO’s and Contract Managers on the front line, feel informed, valued and connected to what we’re doing as the business develops to a moving market, also recognising that most of the work takes place hundreds of miles away from Norwich.
Over the past months I’ve visited many of our operational units across the regions, and I’m committed to meeting every team in the coming months. Getting to know the people who make this business what it is has been one of the most rewarding parts of my first year, since joining in March 2025.
Strong Performance and a Positive Start
Thanks to the hard work of our operational teams, every region is performing well. We’ve started the year strongly, and our focus on culture and a ‘can do’ attitude, from new product development to improved service delivery, is already making a difference.
Despite the wider challenges facing the economy, especially the cost-of-living pressures, we’ve remained resilient. The social housing sector hasn’t been without its difficulties, but our ability to adapt, stay disciplined and support one another has kept us moving forward.
Our People: The Heart of ABP
We must remind ourselves sometimes that we remain the biggest door and window manufacturer and installer in the social housing sector, and that position is only possible because of you. With more than 250 ABP employees and self-employed installers in our business we are proud to be the leading brand with a strong reputation, and we’re working hard to secure more long-term work that benefits you and your families.
Our apprenticeships and trainee programmes continue to bring new people into the business, helping us grow our own talent and build the next generation of skilled professionals. Our shared values, fairness, development, and pride in our work are what will continue to set us apart.
Growth, Innovation and New Opportunities
We’re expanding our services via new collaborations and product development to move with the ever changing social housing market and responding to our customers challenges, this will include doing more New Build over the next 12 months and expanding our product portfolio into Aluminium and Timber plus Solar PV, ventilation, and damp and mould solutions, areas that will strengthen our offer and open up new opportunities for our teams to develop, upskill and build stronger careers.
Replacement doors and windows will remain at the heart of our strategy, not just for our traditional customers 30 year replacement programmes but now because they’re at the top of the agenda for landlords and housing providers due to the drive for Healthy Homes, carbon reduction and Government Wave ECO funding, that does mean a pivot in our strategy and the need to work with more Main Contractors in the coming years, with your help, we want them to choose ABP as their trusted partner.
I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together in my first 12 months, and I’m excited about what’s ahead. With the continued hard work and support of every one of you – and with the leadership of Sam, Amos and the wider team – we will remain the market leader in our sector.
Thank you for everything you do. I look forward to seeing more of you when I am out on the road soon.
