ABP provides Community support to Clydebank Housing
Anglian Building Products has been working closely with Clydebank Housing, supporting them with several key community projects. Let’s take a look at some of them in more detail.
Installation of disabled access ramps
Anglian Building Products were recently able to assist Clydebank Housing Association, in installing a disabled access ramp to the rear of seven blocks of flats.
Access via the front door was extremely tight with residents having to navigate turns via a narrow corridor and two doors before eventually reaching the foyer. The ramps have now greatly improved accessibility for both wheelchair and mobility scooter users.
This means easier access to community areas and increased activity in the social groups that are vital in combating loneliness.
60th Anniversary Celebrations
Anglian also supported a celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the completion of Radnor Park, the first of 7 multi-storey blocks.
Residents enjoyed a hot buffet, refreshments, a raffle and live music while reminiscing and dancing to mark the unique community celebration.
Anglian Training Kitchen
With Anglian’s support, plans have been drawn up and work is underway to repurpose an underused IT suite at Cydebanks Community centre into a training kitchen, which will be used to provide healthy eating classes to residents.
Creation of a Community hub
Anglian have assisted in the creation of a Community hub for Clydebank residents, a place for residents to gather together and socialise. An unused caretaker’s office was identified as suitable and renovated into a vibrant community space.

Clydebank also confirmed that some of the donations by ABP for the Tenancy support program have been well received and shared feedback from one tenant.
“I appreciate this help. Since I moved in I could only afford a blow-up bed for my daughter’s room and I could not afford to decorate it for my 4-year-old who loves princess stuff. I could not have done this without this service. Thank you so much for your care and support.”
